About Us

CARE Child Welfare Training Academy (CARE Academy) is a workforce-development initiative designed to standardize the baseline knowledge and applied skills of entry-level direct-care professionals.

The academy prepares entry-level employees to work safely, confidently, and effectively with children and families involved in the child welfare system, while also strengthening supervisory practice, developing effective leaders, and helping organizations build healthy workplace cultures, improve staff performance and retention, and achieve better outcomes for children and families.

Our Mission

We exist to strengthen the child welfare workforce by providing practical, trauma-informed, and competency-based training to support the safety, stability, healing, and well-being of children and families.

Our Purpose

Our goal is to establish a consistent baseline of trauma-informed knowledge, professional expectations, and applied skills for child welfare professionals serving children and youth in residential, foster-care, shelter, and community-based settings.

Our Foundations Curriculum includes:
